Face Refractive surgery

Refractive surgery or Eximer laser surgery is indicated for persons who suffer from shortsightedness or astigmatism. It offers an interesting alternative to corrective spectacles or contact lenses, as the Lasik method corrects the refractive error by remodelling the cornea obtaining a significant improvement of the sight in 100% of the patients.

In order to benefit from a refractive surgery, you must:

• Be at least 21-years-old
• Hold a prescription that hasn’t changed for at least one year
• Have both eyes in good physical condition
• Be within the norms of the treatment (which will be determined by the ophthalmic surgeon after your evaluation consultation)
• Be in good physical health
• Need to wear corrective spectacles or contact lenses due to shortsightedness

A preliminary visit to your ophthalmologist is necessary, in order for him to determine your refractive error, the size of your pupil, the thickness of the cornea, and make a corneal topography.
