Dental implants

Dental implants are commonly used to replace missing teeth or when replacing a denture with a bridge. The dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium, inserted into the upper or the lower jawbone, on to which a false tooth is attached.

Whether the replacement has to be done of one or of several teeth, the method using a dental implant avoids having to involve the adjacent teeth, which is otherwise normal procedure when building a bridge.

Procedure: It is always necessary to perform a preliminary examination (clinical and radiological), as the procedure is divided into two phases: First, the implant is buried into the jawbone. Then, after a period of two to three months (when the healing process has finished and the implant has been surrounded by the bone structure), the actual false teeth will then be placed, thus restoring comfort, function and appearance.
